We want to create a situation where all software providers are able to talk to each other, so you have the option to choose the best piece of software for your financial planning process without any compromise.
The term integration has become a hot topic of discussion, moving from ‘should we integrate’ and ‘is it worth it’ to ‘are we integrating enough’ and ‘you really should’ in only a short space of time.
We know software providers can integrate with each other – it is a fundamental best practice for a software company – so we have always held the view that if an integration would benefit both you and the client, then an integration should happen.
We are therefore pleased to inform you that our Open API is now live.
An Open API, which stands for an Open Application Programming Interface, is predominantly used by tech teams to help build an integration between two software providers. Our Open API will be used in exactly the same fashion – to build integrations – which is what will ultimately benefit you.
But how does an integration benefit you exactly?
An integration is basically a link between two software providers that allows an exchange of information. In this case, it could mean you sending a completed Data Capture Form from CashCalc to your back-office provider. This saves you time re-keying information.
Now let’s imagine all software providers are integrated with CashCalc using our easily accessible Open API. In this case, you could...
> remotely onboard a client using your preferred onboarding software
> send that information seamlessly to your preferred back-office system
> send that information again to your preferred cashflow planning software to create a cashflow plan
> and even automatically pull in the client’s latest valuations and scheme data while you’re at it.
That level of choice and efficiency is what we ultimately want to achieve with our Open API. We want to create a situation where all software providers are able to talk to each other, so you have the option to choose the best piece of software for your financial planning process without any compromise.
And because each software provider is talking to each other, you could adopt a ‘best of breed’ approach and cherry pick the most suited piece of software for your financial planning process and client.
However, before CashCalc can become almost the roundabout linking you to all your favourite software providers, we first need to make them aware that they can integrate with us. So, if you would like to see any integrations built, please let them or us know. And remember, we are happy to integrate with anyone if it will benefit both you and the client.
